COVID-19 Anti-CD14 Treatment Trial (CaTT) for Inpatients
Sarasota Memorial Hospital is among the research sites across the U.S. participating in a multi-center trial of IC14, an anti-CD14 monoclonal antibody drug that researchers hope will reduce dangerous levels of inflammation in COVID-19 patients. To be eligible for the COVID-19 anti-CD14 Treatment Trial (CaTT), study participants must be hospitalized with COVID-19, require oxygen support and meet other clinical criteria.

Outpatient Monoclonal Antibody Infusion Outside of Clinical Trials
Thanks to several studies testing Regeneron Pharmaceuticals' REGN-CoV-2 antibody cocktail (as a therapy for patients with COVID-19 as well as a treatment to prevent infection in healthy adults exposed to the virus), monoclonal antibody treatments are now available for use outside of clinical trials.
The outpatient treatment is available for people who have been diagnosed with a mild-to-moderate case of COVID-19 within the last 10 days, and have a high risk for severe disease or hospitalization. A physician referral is required.
Physician Referrals: To refer an outpatient for monoclonal antibody infusion, physicians may call the referral line at 941-262-0135 (8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday). After hours, physicians should leave a voicemail with physician name, patient name, patient date of birth, date of positive test, and best contact information for the patient.
NOTE: The state is now providing monoclonal antibody treatment at sites in Sarasota and Manatee Counties for people age 12 and older who are high-risk and have contracted or been exposed to COVID-19. Treatment at these state-supported sites is free and does not require a physician referral. Click here for more information or to make an appointment.
