When it comes to joint replacement surgery and Spine surgery, each patient plays a key role their own recovery. To ensure surgery patients are well-prepared to participate in their care plan, the Sarasota Memorial Orthopedics team requires that patients having hip, knee or shoulder surgery or spine surgery must complete a Pre-operative Joint Replacement Education class prior to surgery.

The class, led by an Orthopedics Pre-op Education specialist, is currently offered in-person on the Venice campus, or online via an interactive, video-conferencing platform. The classes are held at various times throughout the week to accommodate a variety of schedules.
