Our Team

Whether you receive treatment as an inpatient or on an outpatient basis, our rehab team will be with you through every phase of your recovery.

  • Case Managers (social workers and nurses) assist in planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating medical services.

  • Occupational Therapists (OT) help patients relearn how to eat, bathe, dress, and do household, work or school activities.

  • Orthotists and Prosthetists valuate, cast, fabricate and fit custom orthoses and prostheses to maximize each patient’s functional independence.

  • Physiatrists (the rehab team’s lead physician) are specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation and work with the patient’s physician to determine the scope of services needed and recommend a plan of care.

  • Physical Therapists (PT) help patients build strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and endurance, and learn new ways to achieve independent mobility.

  • Psychologists help patients manage the emotional, cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal problems that may arise following an injury or illness. The team includes Clinical Psychologists as well as Neuropsychologists.

  • Recreation Therapists (RT) provide skill training that helps patients enjoy recreational and leisure activities.

  • Registered Dietitians (RD) ensure patients receive the nutrients they need to heal and participate fully in rehabilitation activities. They guide patients in modifying their diets as indicated by health conditions or changes in activity.

  • Rehabilitation Nurses (RN or CRRN) have advanced training in the care of rehabilitation patients, and work in concert with physicians and therapists to coordinate all aspects of care and treatment.

  • Respiratory Therapists (AART) help patients maximize breathing function and help those who use ventilators or have other respiratory problems.

  • Social Workers (LSW, MSW) help patients and their families plan for life outside the hospital, addressing concerns related to housing, caregiving and financial matters.

  • Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP) address communication challenges some people face after a stroke or illness, helping restoring reading, writing, memory and problem-solving skills. They also evaluate and teach patients how to overcome swallowing difficulties and resume safe eating.
