In The Leapfrog Group's hospital safety report cards released today, both Sarasota Memorial Hospital campuses received top marks for patient safety. SMH-Sarasota continued the straight "A" streak it has held since 2016, and SMH-Venice earned an A on its very first report card.
Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice has opened 68 new private patient suites today, with an additional 34 private suites scheduled to open this fall. The expansion is in response to the high demand for medical services in the community.

Sarasota Memorial Hospital honored two physicians for outstanding service this week and announced its 2023-2024 chiefs of staff for the SMH-Sarasota and SMH-Venice campuses.
While work continues on a new bed tower that will double the number of patient rooms at Sarasota Memorial Hospital – Venice, the SMH team is pleased to report that expansion of its emergency and surgical center center also is now under way.
