SMH Cardiologist Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Sarasota Memorial's medical team honored interventional cardiologist Michael Mumma, MD, FACC, with a Lifetime Achievement Award at SMH's annual medical staff meeting on Tuesday. Dr. Mumma, who joined the medical staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 1989, was recognized for 30+ years of clinical leadership, exemplary service and unwavering commitment to his patients and community.

Hope Builds: SMH Celebrates Oncology Tower Construction Milestone

Despite challenges to supply chains and uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarasota Memorial's new oncology tower has crested its highest point - 233 feet - a construction milestone SMH leaders celebrated this week with inspiring messages of hope. Slated to open in the fall of 2021, the tower is the cornerstone of Sarasota Memorial's Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute.
